When I heard about Antonio’s Restaurant the other day, I had to visit. When I did, I was surprised to hear they have been open for a year. It reminded me that I need to go over the bridge to James City more often as there are new places opening on a regular basis.
Laura Johnson joined me for lunch at Antonio’s. From the name, I assumed it was an Italian restaurant. Then we met Chef Valerie Morse and her three year old son, Antonio.
Chef Valerie graduated from Johnson and Wales Culinary School in Providence, RI. She moved here with her family from Boston.
With a passion for cooking, she decided to become a restaurateur and she wants people to know that her food is made from scratch.
Laura and I enjoyed our lunch and she said that it was the best burger she’s had in a long time. You could tell it was handmade.
Chef Valerie has a large menu with a variety of food including wraps, sandwiches, soups, salads, pasta, and more! She also specializes in vast assortment of desserts from red velvet cake, pineapple upside down cake, mini German pancakes, pies, cakes, cookies, cupcakes, muffins and other sweets. She also serves Sunday brunch.
Join Chef Valerie, Servers Kateleigh Love and Kelly Sanborn, her family, and friends as they celebrate their First year Anniversary on August 20th.
Antonio’s also hosts wine parings with Cravin’ Wine.
It was a pleasure meeting Chef Valerie, Kelly, Antonio, and Valerie’s Father.
We highly recommend you visit them for lunch, dinner, and/or Sunday Brunch!
