24-26: Antique Show presented by the New Bern Preservation Foundation at the Maola at Riverside.

25: Civil Rights trail marker unveiling “Oscar Dove” at Oscar’s Mortuary, 1700 Oscar Dr. 11 a.m. Presented by the African American Heritage Culture Center.

26: Civil Rights trail marker unveiling “St. Peter’s AME Zion,” 617 Queen St. at 2 p.m.

26: Tuscarora Educational Powwow by Kaya and Kat Littleturtle, 2 p.m. at Craven Community College’s Orringer Auditorium. Hosted by the New Bern Historical Society.

27: Grand Opening of the new Stanley White Recreation Center, 601 3rd Ave. at 10 a.m. Presented by New Bern Parks & Recreation.

27: New Bern Noble Knights Chess Club kicks off season, 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Stanley White Recreation Center, 601 3rd Ave. Presented by the New Bern Police Department.

February

1: Craven County Clean Sweep, 9 a.m. at the Craven County Administration Building, 406 Craven St.

1: Reading Fun Day, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the New Bern Mall, 3134 Dr. MLK Blvd. Presented by Twin Rivers Reading Council, Craven Smart Start and Lions International.

1: My Sister House Conference, 3 p.m. at Two Rivers Church, 3221 Neuse Blvd. Presented by Tried by Fire.

8: New Bern Heart Ball at the Maola at Riverside, 1400 N. Craven St. at 6 p.m.

10: Gardening Symposium, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. at Carolina Colours Pavillion, 330 Waterscape Way. Presented by the NC Cooperative Extension-Craven Center and Craven County Extension Master Gardener Volunteers.

22: Created Equal: From Bondage to Freedom in James City at 3 p.m. in the Orringer Auditorium. Presented by the James City Historical Society in partnership with Craven Community College.

22: Winterfeast at the North Carolina History Center, 529 St. Front St. at 6:30 p.m.

26: New Bern History Series: The Regulator Movement at Tryon Palace, 529 S. Front St. at 2 p.m. Presented by Craven Community College Lifeline Learning Center, Tryon Palace, Richard Dobbs Spaight Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and New Bern Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution.

March 

1: New Bern Mardi Gras festival and parade on Spencer Avenue in the historic Ghent Neighborhood from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Parade starts at 3:15 p.m. on 2nd Street and goes to 7th Street.
