Hailing from Charlottesville, VA, The Adrian Duke Project has been delighting crowds from Atlanta to Baltimore and everywhere in between with a funky mix of Motown and soul, jazz and swing, and good ol’ rock-n-roll. Come out for an enjoyable evening of music and fun on Friday, May 20 on the lawn at the River Dunes Grace Harbor Amphitheater, hosted by the Pamlico Musical Society. The gates open at 6 pm; the show starts at 7pm — rain or shine. Bring your own lawn chair or blanket and picnic!
Featuring bandleader/piano player/singer-songwriter Adrian Duke in the New Orleans musical tradition of Professor Longhair, James Booker & Dr. John, The Adrian Duke Project is a full seven-piece band, including trumpet, saxophone, and the soulful stylings of female vocalist Theresa Richmond. Its vast repertoire of music ranges from The Beatles, Van Morrison and Elton John to Marvin Gaye and Ray Charles to Duke Ellington and Frank Sinatra. The Adrian Duke Project is where New Orleans blues, classic soul, and Americana collide. Playing songs you know and love, they not only know how to start the party, they know how to keep it rocking — all night long!
