If you didn’t make it to MUMFEST today, there’s always tomorrow! We were pleasantly surprised as it wasn’t a washout. It was mostly overcast with a few light showers.
Starting out, we had a great time watching “Merchant’s Road” perform! We met David English, owner of Black Owl Guitars, a few years back and he’s come a long way as he’s performing with other well known local musicians (Gabby Ray Christie, Wilson White, Josh Whaley, Margorie Weigel, Sheila Brown Batten, Danny Batten, and a couple of others who we haven’t met yet).
We had the chance to catch up with friends and meet new local businesses and non-profits.
We enjoyed a couple live shows. We saw the tail end of Alex Clark’s performance along with a glimpse of The Yo Yo Man. Mitchie Faustino and her team broke out into a flash mob (stay tuned for footage).
We worked up an appetite and with food from all over Eastern NC, it was a hard to decide what to eat! When I saw Pinay’s Lumpia Food based in Havelock, I had to try it! The lumpia and meat on a stick was delicious!
In 5 hours we only made it 1/3 of the way throughout the MUMFEST area. We hope to cover more ground tomorrow. If you see us on the street, say hello and we’ll take your picture and add it to the photo gallery! Just look for our New Bern Now logo on our shirts.
Check out the pictures that we took today as you and/or your friends may be in them! MUMFEST 2015 Photo Gallery – Saturday, October 10.
Special thanks to Danielle Glynn, Chief Administrative Officer for Swiss Bear Downtown Development Corporation, Swiss Bear Board Members, and Volunteers! Great job!
