New Bern Parks & Recreation is having registration for the B.E.A.R. Afterschool Program which begins Monday, August 24th, 2015.
This afterschool program offers youth from kindergarten through 8th grade a combination of education, recreation, and socialization in a safe and creative atmosphere. The program picks up participants from the New Bern area elementary and middle schools, which operates Monday – Friday 3:00pm – 6:00pm. A onetime registration fee for participants follows the same scale as weekly fees.
Fees are: City Resident Non-City Resident
1 child $15.00 per week 1 child $25.00 per week
2 children $23.00 per week 2 children $33.00 per week
3 children $28.00 per week 3 children $38.00 per week
4 children $31.00 per week 4 children $41.00 per week
5 children $33.00 per week 5 children $43.00 per week
$2.00 per child after the 5th child.
The B.E.A.R. Afterschool program has two locations: Stanley White Recreation Center and West New Bern Recreation Center. Applications are available at each location. We are also offering a 7 on 7 Flag Football league, which will begin on Sunday, September 20th. All games will be played at Lawson Creek Park. To register, you may go to the West New Bern Rec.
