Rosh Hashanah is the Jewish New Year. It falls once a year during the Hebrew calendar’s month of Tishrei and occurs ten days before Yom Kippur. This year celebrates the beginning of the year 5771. Together these holidays are often referred to as the High Holy Days. Residents of our area including members of the active military wishing to attend services are welcome. Founded in 1908, Temple B’nai Sholem is located at 505 Middle Street in New Bern’s beautiful Historic District, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The temple serves over 121 members residing in six coastal counties.
