The Boathouse of New Bern has undergone many changes over the years and is a historic building that housed Jimmie Moore’s Saloon in 1885.
Today, Kim Glenn is the Proprietor of The Boathouse of New Bern. She took ownership in June 2009 and hit the ground running!
During my short visit, Kim welcomed a handful of customers and it was apparent that she is a “people person” and eagerly assisted her visitors find what they were looking for. A couple came in and knew exactly what they were looking for because they already purchased an item and liked it so much that they wanted another!
Kim constantly strives to find exclusive nautical themed merchandise. The Boathouse showcases a multitude of various products to include: hypo allergenic jewelry; dog collars, leashes and harnesses; “Tilley Hats” along with a large array of other quality sun-protective hats and visors; all weather and rain jackets; beach bags; sun glasses; candles; cards; kitchenware; ornaments; nautical charts; t-shirts; authentic model sail boats; ornamental lighthouses; old fashioned style compasses; handmade crafts; puzzles; books; photographs; New Bern memorabilia; and much more!
With a wide variety of beautiful nautical gifts and collectables, the Boathouse of New Bern is a MUST visit! Each time I visit, Kim always has something new on display.
If you believe in ghosts, you may run into a spirit from the past at the Boathouse! Ask Kim about her interesting encounters with a special and friendly presence.
