On September 28, 2016, Craven County Board of Education spotlighted Josh McGhee, West Craven Middle 7th grade science teacher. He has many wonderful qualities as an educator and a leader within the school and community. Josh has helped to share and reinforce the vision, mission and beliefs of the school and district throughout the West Craven Community. He goes above and beyond when collaborating with his colleagues on a daily basis. He serves on the leadership cabinet team at WCMS and helps to influence others to have a mindset of continuous school-wide improvement. Josh has also designed the implementation of a Positive Behavior System and leads colleagues to research new ways of maximizing student learning and engagement at West Craven Middle.
Mr. McGhee provides a positive and nurturing environment for all students. He always has an enthusiastic attitude towards students and teammates and eagerly adds positive and creative feedback to help students and colleagues grow and learn.
Josh exemplifies the qualities of an educator that wants to make a difference and is constantly striving for excellence from both himself and his students. He is “all in”, truly desiring a safe and inviting environment that promotes learning. We are so proud to have Josh McGhee as part of our staff/family at West Craven Middle School.
