Tryon Palace Behind-the-Scenes Tours of Gardens and Costume Shop in May

Gardens Tour

May is the last month for visitors to experience Behind-the-Scenes tours of Tryon Palace gardens for the season, with the last tours set for Tuesdays, May 10 and 17, at 2pm.

During the gardens tours, Tryon Palace gardeners will lead a tour to view what is blooming in the late spring gardens, including the fringe tree, southern magnolia and pawpaw, and a multitude of species of baptisia and iris throughout the grounds.

The first and last behind-the-scenes tours of the month will be May 3 and May 24 at the Tryon Palace Costume Shop. Tours will be led by historic clothing interpreter Leslie Lambrecht and held inside the historic Jones House, which serves as the home of the Tryon Palace costume shop.

All tours begin at 2 p.m. at the Waystation, located on the corner of Pollock and George streets in downtown New Bern.
Admission to all Behind-the-Scenes tours is included with a One Day Pass or purchased separately at a cost of $6 for adults and $3 for students. Space is very limited for Behind-the-Scenes tours.
