Judy Stasinopoulos and her family are back in town with a new twist on Zorba’s Kitchen! This time they provide authentic Greek cuisine catering and take-out meals for people on the go! They also deliver to businesses or residential areas for home parties.
Ask Judy to tell you about her family’s “Pappous” olive oil business. The olives are picked and crushed in the Stasinopoulos hometown of Vournaria, Greece, and shipped to the US for bottling by Zorba’s Kitchen! When you walk in to pickup your meal, look at the photos on the wall to see the actual olive orchards and other photos that walk you through the oil making process. Don’t forget to purchase a bottle of “Pappous” authentic Greek olive oil on your way out!
Zorba’s first location was in Downtown New Bern’s “Kress Building” 10 years ago. Judy told me about the great times they had at Zorba’s and showed me the original logo design by New Bern’s well-known artist, the late William Taglieri.
The family’s passion for cooking Greek cuisine led them to re-open Zorba’s Kitchen.
They offer Soup and Salads; Dip Platters; Souvlaki; Sandwiches; Greek Favorites; Appetizers; House Specialties; Pasta; Shish Kabobs; and Fresh Assorted Greek Pastries for Dessert.
They also specialize in Home Dinner Parties and Events with Greek Favorites by the Pan! Greek Salad; Moussaka; Pastichio; Spanikopita; Tiropita; Domades; Baked Ziti; and Baked Lasagna.
On my way out, Judy gave me a loaf of warm, homemade “Peasant Bread”. I couldn’t wait until I got home for a taste! It was delicious!
Thanks, Judy, for your friendly welcome and fun tour of your family’s new restaurant! Next time, I’ll be back to order a Tzatziki and Hummus Dip Platter and some Shish Kabobs!
