Craven Arts Council / Bank of the Arts 317 Middle St. presents At The Gallery Series. This month they will feature the music of Holland-Dozier-Holland. If you enjoy Motown Classics, like “Sugar Pie Honey Bunch” and “How Sweet It Is to Be Loved By You,” then this is the show to see. Minus 2 performs the classics from the era we celebrate still. Asian Games at Bear’s Lair Games The Asian Games Club of New Bern will meet at Bear’s Lair Games in Berne Square on Sunday afternoon February 17, 1-4 pm.
Come learn and play Xiangqi (Chinese Chess), Shogi (Japanese Chess), and other East Asian strategy games. Additional games, such as Go/Weiqi/Baduk, Makruk (Thai Chess), and Janggi (Korean Chess) are available on request. Equipment and clear, concise English-language instructions provided. No dues, no membership – just show up and play! It’s free and fun!
The Asian Games meeting will be at 1:00 PM. Bear’s Lair Games is located at 2680 Dr. MLK Jr. Blvd. in Berne Square, not far from Big Lots and Planet Fitness, New Bern, NC 28562, telephone 252-635-5247. On Sundays, Bear’s Lair Games is open from 1:00 to 6:00.

Take a walk in the woods in the Croatian National Forest. The forest’s habitat has carnivorous plants like the Venus flytrap, pitcher plant, sun-dew, butterwort, bladderwort among other exotic plants. The Croatian spans approximately 160,000 acres and is located in New Bern’s backyard. It’s a sanctuary for black bear, deer, wild turkey, quail, coyote, bald eagle, beaver, bobcat, porcupine, American alligator, red-tailed hawk, and other wildlife you may see.
