Beary Merry Christmas Postpones Sledding & Shopping Sunday

Beary Merry ChristmasBeary Merry Christmas (BMC) will be moving the 5th Annual Sledding & Shopping Sunday to Saturday, December 22. This is due to the increasing chance of rainfall this upcoming Sunday, the original date for the event.

Amanda Banks, Beary Merry Chair says, “We have had to be prepared to shift our events all season due to the unpredictable weather over the last few weeks. We appreciate our community working with us as this is not the ideal situation, but we will get though it together.”
The event will open to sponsors only at noon, with registration for the public at 1:00pm. South Front Street will close at 8am to prepare for set up of the lounges and activities. The price of sledding is $5, and donations are encouraged for Hurricane Florence holiday relief efforts.

Food trucks will provide options for those looking for a quick bite to eat during the afternoon of fun, along with crafts and a bounce house. Santa will be at Bear Plaza meeting with children and taking pictures, thanks to sponsor Century 21 Zaytoun-Raines.

Participants will need to sign a waiver in order to sled. Waivers are available at BearyMerryChristmas.com to assist with expediting the process of the event for families.
