The River Bend Community Organic Garden presents a free workshop, We Love Those Leafy Greens on Tuesday, May 26 at 6:30 PM at River Bend Town Hall, 45 Shoreline Drive.
If you think leafy greens refers to lettuce, come to this workshop to learn about how many types of leafy greens can be grown in this area. If you grow leafy greens now, come to this workshop to learn some new ways to prepare them. If you want to grow leafy greens, attend this workshop to learn how easy it is to grow them even if you have onlya small area.
Led by RBCOG founding member and long-time gardener Jane Snider, the workshop will teach the audience that leafy greens aren’t just for salads. Her presentation will address different ways to prepare many varieties of greens. Master Gardener Audrey Kress Williams will speak to the audience about easy growing methods and Certified Nutrition Counselor Ann Sorocki will discuss health benefits of including greens in a diet. At the conclusion of the workshop attendees will be invited to taste some creatively prepared greens and other savory samples .
