Recently we have received a lot of questions about how people can they get their information published on New Bern Now’s website, Ledger magazine, and social media sites.
We’ve also received requests to write a story about a new business and/or promote local events to include “community audio segments” for the radio and filming videos.
The first step is to email us with a press release/article and include a request for an audio or video.
Please send us articles in text format, preferably a Microsoft Word document, limited to approximately 550 words.
For event information, please include the date, time, title, location, phone number and a website link in text format.
If you’re sending us an article/press release, include a photo/image at least 580 pixels wide by 360 pixels high.
Please refrain from sending us a poster because we cannot re-post on New Bern Now’s website. We have to re-type the information and we don’t want to misinterpret the message.
Our goal is to “Promote, not demote” and we will not publish anything that is libelous. We also don’t publish advertorials.
Once we receive your request for an audio interview or video, we will call you to arrange the appointment. Please contact us at least 3-4 weeks prior to the event.
Laura Johnson volunteers to conduct audio interviews for New Bern Now and publish them on WNOS New Bern’s NewsTalkRadio 97.1FM and 1450AM. These aren’t live interviews as they will be recorded on the computer and edited prior to airing on the radio.
I write about local business, non-profit, and events. Depending on my schedule, I may do a video.
Please call us at 252-638-6858 with any questions.
We look forward to helping you promote your efforts and/or share your story!
