Join New Bern Parks & Recreation at Lawson Creek Park on July 4th for an evening of relaxation and entertainment! We will have the reading of The Declaration of Independence at 5pm. We are also proud that Gaylon Pope and Sweetwater will be Headlining as the Musical Entertainment with their Variety Show “A Sweet Taste of Country, Good Time Oldies, Gospel & Down Home Humor!” from 7:30pm-9pm! As nighttime nears, you will enjoy a spectacular fireworks show. Food vendors will be on site with treats ranging from hamburgers and hot dogs to pizza and sweet treats. We welcome coolers and service animals, but prohibit alcohol, glass containers, fireworks and all other pets. We ask that bicyclists refrain from riding while in the park.
