Community Coalition for Craven County Children

Craven kids

Want to help the younger generation prepare to lead us through this century?  What better way than to strengthen our families so we can raise responsible, educated and caring children who will become the future leaders of our communities and country.  The Community Coalition for Craven County Children (CCCCC) was formed in 2011 as a result of a community effort to improve services provided to children and families in Craven County.  The mission of the Coalition is to provide educational information to families in Craven County on child development, safety and parenting and to advocate to improve outcomes for children and families.  The CCCCC is collaborating with the Community Child Protection Team (CCPT) which is a state mandated committee in every county tasked with identifying gaps in services or issues with access to services that families need to raise healthy, safe children.  Together the groups are working to address some of the most common causes of child death in our area-drowning and safe sleep arrangements for babies.  We are also planning focus groups for the fall to bring parents together to find new ways to strengthen families and develop parent leaders.

The Coalition is in need of new members who support the mission and are willing to give a little time to help others in our community.  Meetings are held once a month on the first Monday at 9 AM at the Easter Seals Office at 2801 Neuse Blvd. in New Bern.  The next meeting is Monday, September 9th.  Other volunteer opportunities are also available.  Please check out our website: www.coalition4children.com  and Facebook page: www.facebook.com/communityforchildren/ or call Terry Brubaker at 252-636-4900 Ext. 3081.
