Swiss Bear Downtown Development Corporation and the New Bern Area Chamber of Commerce are happy to announce the third Sunrise Business Update will be held Thursday, May 30th with featured speaker Willo Kelly, President NC-20 presenting information on recently approved homeowners insurance rate increases and changes to the National Flood Insurance Program. The lead speaker on property insurance throughout eastern NC, Willo’s presentation will include information on how these changes impact policyholders and what can be done to save money on the rising cost of coverage.
Willo’s involvement in property insurance issues began fifteen years ago when she was President of the Currituck Chamber of Commerce. She conducted extensive research, and in 2008, facing ever-increasing rates and fewer market options, property insurance became the major focus of NC-20, the Outer Banks Association of Realtors and the Outer Banks Home Builders Association.
The meeting will be held 8am – 9am at Baker’s Kitchen, 227 Middle Street in the second floor meeting room with a full buffet breakfast. The cost, $10 per person, will be collected at the beginning of the meeting.
