Tryon Civitan Club Sponsoring Canned Food Drive for Salvation Army

Update: As of February 12th, The Tryon Civitans are less than 1/4 way to their goal and need our community’s help in collecting food for the needy. Listen to Laura Johnson’s interview with President Pat Drake airing on WNOS Talk Free Radio 105.9FM and 1450AM:

For the month of February, The Tryon Civitan Club, in conjunction with The UPS Store, will be sponsoring their Fourth Annual Canned Food Drive to benefit the Salvation Army.

Mack Paul, Project Chairperson for the Tryon Civitans, told us, “The Salvation Army really needs cans of meat, peanut butter, pasta – anything with protein”. He encourages people to “Please help us help the needy in our community”.

As always, The Tryon Civitan Club thanks everyone for their continued support of the projects they have during the year in support of our community. Last year they collected over 1700 pounds of canned food and delivered it to The Salvation Army. Their goal this year is to collect 2,000 pounds, “A Ton of Fun”!

Anyone wishing to donate cans to drop them off at The UPS Store, located at 1822 South Glenburnie Road (across the street from the Post Office). If you have any questions or need any additional information, please contact Mack Paul at 252-637-7500 or visit the Tryon Civitan’s website.

Special thanks to Mack for sharing this important information with us!
