Philip P. Buffa, Jr. spearheaded the community effort to “Adopt a Hero’s Flag” memorializing those who lost their lives while performing duties on September 11, 2001.
On Sunday, October 9, he set up an Adoption Center, Downtown New Bern, where people could adopt a flag. He asked them to write a letter to the NYC Police Department, Fire Department, and Port Authority Police to let them know they will never be forgotten.
Phil was also taking donations for the NC Police Officers Memorial Fund and the NC Fallen Firefighters Fund to help families, survivors, widows, and children.
Special thanks to Phil Buffa for your service as a Firefighter for the Washington DC Fire Department (now retired), well known Bagpiper in Eastern NC, and he’s also known as “Caleb Bradham” at the Pepsi Store.
