Thea Kincaid, owner of Thea’s Ideas, has been planning her 9th annual Christmas in July for months. This year was different after we visited the Religious Community Services (RCS) last week to shoot a video of the Tryon Civitan’s donating almost 1,900 pounds of sugar and $800 to RCS.
Due to scheduling conflicts, we missed the video promotion, but Michael McMillan, RCS’s Executive Director was happy to give us a tour of their facility.
Walking away, Thea told me she wanted to do something to help fill their empty shelves. She decided then and there that she was going to ask her vendors and attendees of Christmas in July to provide canned goods for RCS.
A week later, RCS received a couple of hundred pounds of non-perishable food items and $700 as Christmas in July came to an end.
Now let’s talk about Christmas in July! Promotional product vendors came from across the Country to participate in this special event.
Thea was excited to introduce local businesses and non-profits to the following vendors: Cheryl Becker, Tina Jameson-Brown, Rich Conroy, Frank Deaner, Christina Hoelzer, Joy Jacobs, Jack Keegan, Brian Kemp, Andrew Landrum, Linda McMahan, Julie Strob, Barry Pearson, Karen Popple, Toni Prophitt, and Jane Ryan.
A special thanks to: the New Bern Riverfront Hilton for providing the room, setup for vendors, food and beverages; Randy’s Tugboat Cruises for transporting vendors to special event; The Graphics Shack for assisting with all the graphic design and printing needs for the event; and Becky Bengel for all her hard work!
Thea would also like to thank Cheryl Becker of Gill Studios based in Kansas for taking a last minute order for stickers and personally delivering them for the “Save our Downtown Post Office Rally” on Thursday. Check out the video below to see what Cheryl has to say about New Bern, as she stayed to participate in the rally!
She hopes this annual event will continue to grow and establish relationships across the United States. Please call Thea at 252-636-2628 or visit her website for more information.
