Around the Town in New Bern…A Guide of Activities for Teens

So what to do in New Bern? Well there’s lots of things for teenagers to do in New Bern, NC. Some popular places to hang out and have a good time are Rollerland and Strike Zone. Rollerland, a skating place is a cool place to go to have fun, eat, listen to music, and roller blade with friends. It’s really popular on the weekends, so if you’re looking for something really exciting to do check out Rollerland. Strike Zone, located near Harris Teeter is an awesome place to bowl, eat, and so much more. It’s got a great concessions stand, a full arcade, and last but not least laser tag. Check it out!

If you’re outdoorsy, there’s a great little place in James City, behind the McDonalds. This awesome place is called Green Springs. It’s a five story jungle gym on the Neuse River. It’s got a shallow and deep end; diving boards; zip line; rope swings; chicken poles and much more. It’s a great place to swim and meet new people. The best part it’s totally free! If you’re into movie we have a great theatre in town, Neuse Blvd Theatre. With a wide array of the newest movies out these are great places to hang out with friends or just catch a show. For more information on times and prices check it out.

If you can sing, check out Trent River Coffee Company, in downtown New Bern. They have an Open Night Mic night that is very popular. You can play an instrument, sing, tell jokes, or feature your band here. It’s a great place for teens to be musically active and hang out. Plus, if you perform you get a free drink! Speaking of downtown, there is an array of neat shops and places to eat. So if you want to learn more about our town and have a great time take a group of friends downtown and just explore. You’ll find food, ice cream, clothes, jewelry, and so much more.

If you’re into sports New Bern has a bunch of parks to go and play: Lawson’s Creek, Fisher’s Landing, Kidsville, Union Point, and Creekside. These beautiful, open parks have great fields for all different kinds of sports and hobbies. So if you need a place to practice or have a game check out one of our town’s awesome parks.
