>Uptown Business and Professional Association (UBPA) is a nonprofit organization advocating for businesses and residents of New Bern’s Five Points Neighborhood. On May 15, 2011 at the beautiful Flame Banquet Hall, UBPA, will present “Ladies Night Out” to pay tribute to some outstanding ladies from the community. Doors open at 6pm and tickets are $30 each.
The purpose for this banquet is to keep the UBPA Training Center’s doors open. The training center is located at 912 Queen Street, which is in the middle of the Five Points Community. The Training Center provides tutoring, teahes reading, computer classes and GED Preparation. All of this to improve the education of our drop out population. The Training Center has been open since May 2010 and is making a difference in the lives of residents. But we need your help to keep the doors open!
We are asking that you come out on May 15th to support the Uptown Training Center, have dinner and a good time. Mary J. Peterkin, UBPA, President will be the guest speaker and Ms. Teresa Terry from WKIS 101.9FM will be our Mistress of Ceremony.
