New Bern’s MUMFEST is an exception. Especially, as they celebrate 30 years of the MUMFEST! Susan Moffat-Thomas and Danielle Glynn along with their Board of Directors have been instrumental in changing the face of New Bern’s Downtown District.
Although I’ve read stories and heard some people scrutinize the Swiss Bear’s choices, I’m proud to support their hard work and difficult choices they encounter while continuing to improve our City.
MUMFEST 2010 is a classic example of the perseverance of the Swiss Bear Downtown Development Corporation to continue to host this unique festival. Improving upon their efforts year after year! The MUMFEST is only a small slice of the pie that Swiss Bear is involved in.
Swiss Bear’s current initiatives include: “Riverwalk and Downtown Open Space Improvements; River History Park; Pedestrian Footbridge; Marina and Transient Boat Slips; Herbert C. Bonner Ferry; Bryan-Fordham Cemetery Restoration; Bear Plaza Chessboard; Brownfields Assessment Project; Five Point Revitalization Committee; Wayfinding Sign System; Restoration of the F-11 Grumman; Commemorative Plate; Boar Member Recollections and Swiss Bear’s History; and the Main Street Carolina – Digital History Mapping Project”. – taken from their website
Thank you, Susan Moffat-Thomas, Danielle Glynn, and Swiss Bear Board Members, for this terrific event. I can’t wait for this weekend!
