Since I started interviewing various businesses around New Bern, I decided to call my mini-tours, “Spotlight on local businesses”.
Today’s spotlight shined on MJ’s Raw Bar & Grille located at 216 Middle St, Downtown, New Bern. I met MJ’s owner, Mike Lentz and his father, along with Cheryl Smith, owner of The Pathway to College. Mike became the sole owner of MJ’s last November and MJ’s has been in business since July 2005.
The food is delicious, no matter what your taste; you’re bound to find something you like here! The menu varies from steak, seafood, burgers and chicken dishes. MJ’s is known for fantastic crab cakes made with their secret lump crab recipe, less fillers and more crab meat! Other favorites are steamed or raw oysters and clams.
Mike and his friendly staff are looking forward to their Super Bowl party tomorrow! Watch the Super Bowl at your “neighborhood bar” – MJ’s. You can see the game on one of their three TVs from almost every seat in the house. Super Bowl specials: 40 cent wings, burger & fries for $4.95! They’ll stay open until the game ends!
“Come watch it with us at our new enlarged bar! Saints vs. Colts – BE THERE!” – MJ’s
They are also preparing for a pub crawl on St. Patrick’s Day with the Chelsea (8-9pm), MJ’s (9-10pm), BTM’s (10-11pm), Harvey Mansion 1797 Steamer Bar (11 until ?)
Check out their full menu and other information on their Website.
Thanks for the tour, Mike!
