Laura Johnson and I stopped by Swiss Bear Downtown Development Corporation to find out what they have in store for us during New Bern’s largest outdoor festival – the 32nd Annual MUMFEST 2012!
Listen to Laura Johnson’s Radio interview with Swiss Bear’s Executive Director, Susan Moffat-Thomas, that is airing on WNOS 105.9FM and 1450AM:
Today, Susan told us about MUMFEST’s newest attraction, the SeaFair Mega Yacht which will be visiting New Bern for the first time.
The SeaFair is a 228 foot vessel that will be docked at New Bern’s Grand Marina behind the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel.
This unique mega yacht is a “floating art gallery” that’s five stories tall! Three decks will be open to the public that are outfitted with 28 art galleries, fine art, jewelry, sculptures, and artwork featuring artists from around the World!
Susan described the SeaFair as a “Wonderful new venue that we feel is going to attract people from all over North Carolina”.
Get your tickets today by purchasing them online, in advance for $10 per person or buy them on site for $15 per person. The SeaFair will be in New Bern from October 12 – 14, 2012.
Most of the venues at MUMFEST are free, a few of them require admission and the SeaFair is one of them. If you plan on taking a tour of the SeaFair, you’ll need to show a photo ID.
Visit MUMFEST’s website and/or Facebook page for the latest event information and schedules. Check out the MUMFEST map to see where everything is to include 20+ exclusive attractions. Make sure you print it out and bring it with you so you can make sure you see everything you’re interested in!
