Laura Johnson and I had the pleasure of meeting Carolyn and Charles Peterson today to learn more about their upcoming event “New Bern Cares to Cure Neurofibromatosis”. Laura interviewed Carolyn to learn more and promote the cause on Radio Free ENC’s WNOS 105.9FM and 1450AM.
Carolyn told us that her two year old granddaughter, Natalie, was diagnosed with Neurofibromatosis. The goal is to raise funds and awareness for this incurable disease. One in every 3,000 children is estimated as having this disease. It’s a disease that grows along any nerve in the body.
The Peterson’s are hosting a Garden Party “Fun” Raiser on June 3rd from 5 – 7pm to benefit the Children’s Tumor Foundation in the search to find a cure for Neurofibromatosis.
Enjoy an evening listening to Dixie Land music, eating Mustard’s Last Stand Hotdogs and Coopers New Orleans Snow Balls.
CarolinaEast Foundation is sponsoring this special event.
Don’t miss this opportunity to tour the Peterson’s home and garden. They live in the Historic “Foy Mungren House” built in 1881 at 516 Middle Street.
Buy your tickets today as they are limited!
Every cent of the$20 ticket proceeds will benefit the Children’s Tumor Foundation to go for research. Her son will match the funds raised up to $20,000.
You can purchase tickets at Mitchell Hardware, Mustard’s Last Stand at the New Bern Farmer’s Market, and the CarolinaEast Foundation in the O’Marks Building.
