>You won’t want to miss the Pamlico County Historical Association meeting on Monday, June 27, 2011, 7:00 p.m. at the Heritage Center. Guest Speaker will be Major General Tom Braaten whose topic will be “Freedom, Who Owns It, Who Defends It?” in keeping with the upcoming July 4th holiday.
After serving 36 years in the USMC, Tom served as the President/CEO of the Twin Rivers YMCA in New Bern for nearly five years. In summer of 2006 he assumed the position as the Airport Director for the Coastal Carolina Regional Airport.
The Pamlico County Veterans Council will participate in the program and Lupton McClanahan will sing the national anthem.
