During our rounds Downtown today, we discovered a conference at the New Bern Riverfront Convention Center.
Thea Kincaid interviewed Rosie Allen Ryan, the President/CEO of Prevent Child Abuse North Carolina. Rosie told us that 400 healthcare professionals, social workers, parent educators, child advocates came to New Bern for this two day educational conference. Their focus is sharing child service resources from across the State of North Carolina to help children thrive in nurturing environments and be good parents themselves!
Rosie told us April is Prevent Child Abuse Month and we learned that New Bern’s Riverfront Convention Center is the FIRST in the State of North Carolina to place a Pinwheel Garden at the entrance to spread the word about this special cause! New Bern chalks up another FIRST! Great job, Convention Center folks!
