Exhibits of the unique painted artworks are on display at the New Bern History Center and New Bern Convention Center through September 25th, the day before the New Bern String Fling Gala & Auction which begins September 26, 6:30 pm at the New Bern Riverfront Convention Center.
Linda Staunch said, “The early online bidding process is simple and user friendly. Interested collectors can view the items and enter a bid by going to 32Auctions.com/StringFling, to create an account. Online bidding is open through noon on Saturday, September 26th. Bidders not attending the Gala event can place a proxy bid during the Silent and/or Live Auction which closes that evening.”
The New Bern String Fling Gala & Auction, being held in celebration of the North Carolina Symphony’s annual New Bern Concert Series that began in New Bern ten years ago promises to be New Bern’s most memorable, outstanding Black Tie ticketed celebration of the year.
In addition to the Live and Silent Auction of beautifully painted one-of-a-kind violins and violin-themed sculpture, pottery and woodwork by well known local and regional artists, the evening includes an open bar with unlimited drinks, an elegant dinner, dancing to the music of I Love This Band, and a Stock Your Wine Cellar raffle of a premier wine collection.
Tickets can be purchased individually, or for a table of ten, for $125 per person from the NewBernStringFling’s website.
In 2005, the NC Symphony collaborated with New Bern to develop an annual concert series featuring three Classical concerts, a free summer Pops concert on the lawn at Tryon Palace, a Holiday Pops in December and a concert for children and families.
Sponsored by the New Bern Board of the North Carolina Symphony (a 501(c)(3) nonprofit), proceeds from the New Bern String Fling Gala & Auction will be used to support the annual North Carolina Symphony performances, children education programs and music education.
