Craven County Schools is pleased to announce Mrs. Roneca Wallace, New Bern High School Assistant Principal will be the new Principal at Graham A. Barden Elementary School upon the retirement of Ms. Marilyn Brown. The Board of Education approved the recommendation for Mrs. Wallace’s new position at the monthly Board of Education meeting on Thursday, November 15, 2018.
Mrs. Wallace is a native of Craven County and a product of the Craven County School System. She began her educational career 17 years ago and has taught in Pitt and Craven Counties. She has served as an elementary school teacher, district learning systems coach, elementary school assistant principal and high school assistant principal in Craven County Schools. She also had the distinct pleasure of serving as the 2011-2012 Teacher of the Year for Craven County Schools.
In addition, she earned her Bachelor’s in Social Work, Masters in School Administration and an Education Specialist Degree. Mrs. Wallace is currently working on her doctorate and has recently renewed her National Board Certification demonstrating her continued commitment to teaching and the important work that happens with children in the classroom.
She is married to Mr. Tabari Wallace, WCHS Principal and North Carolina Principal of the Year. They have one beautiful daughter who is an East Carolina Graduate. Mrs. Wallace is very excited to be a part of the Jets family! Please join us as we congratulate, Mrs. Roneca Wallace!
