The 34th Annual Coastal Christmas Flotilla sets sail this weekend on Saturday, December 1st at Union Point Park in downtown New Bern. Activities begin at 5pm with holiday music and special guests including Frosty the Snowman, Rudolph, the Grinch, Santa’s elves, the Abominable Snowman and Bernie the Bear. The Flotilla begins around 5:30pm, and will be emceed again this year by Brian North, WCTI News Channel 12.
“We are excited to present this event this year, especially considering all of the damage done to local marinas and boats during hurricane Florence,” said New Bern Parks & Recreation Director Foster Hughes. “The flotilla is a holiday tradition in New Bern, and we’re thankful local boaters stepped up to decorate their vessels and join in a festive event to help spread the holiday spirit.”
After the Flotilla, stroll New Bern’s quaint downtown and take the kids to visit Santa at Bear Plaza. The 34th Annual Coastal Christmas Flotilla is sponsored by WCTI News Channel 12, New Bern Grand Marina, Persimmons, Galley Stores, and Bridgeton Harbor Marina.
