Guests at Tryon Palace can now effortlessly share their selfies, write reviews, and post photos during their visit to the historic site using free sitewide Wi-Fi.
Sitewide Wi-Fi allows the Tryon Palace staff and volunteers to improve the visitor experience in creative ways, such as supporting live-streaming of events and tours.
One such event is an upcoming streaming educational tour presented by the North Carolina Museum of History’s Beyond the Exhibits program called “LIVE! VIPs at Tryon Palace,” September 12. This free event for schools invites classrooms across the state to attend a streamed tour of Tryon Palace on YouTube, allowing North Carolina’s students to learn about their first state capitol. This is possible only through the use of sitewide Wi-Fi.
The new sitewide Wi-Fi includes a password-protected guest network provided free to visitors to the historic sites and North Carolina History Center, as well as a staff network that will boost security, efficiency, and communication throughout the large complex. New wireless cameras will bolster security across the site. All historic grounds and buildings, as well as the North Carolina History Center, are covered in the reach of the Wi-Fi networks.
