Edward Jones Financial Advisor Dan Roberts, partnered with Partners In Education to award a $100 gift card to Sandra Parker, Cabinet Chairperson and Science Department Chairperson at New Bern High. Mr. Roberts noted that in her quest to heighten the opportunities available to her students, Ms. Parker continues to adapt her program into a living and flexible guide for other science teachers at New Bern High and throughout our public school system. She is always seeking ways to improve and help others, evident in her leadership of the science department and guidance of the Environmental Club. Jerry Simmons, principal at New Bern High, said her classes are engaging and her students emerge with an understanding of the interconnectedness between curricula and real-world issues. The Edward Jones Teacher Recognition Award demonstrates the company’s commitment to positively changing the lives of students and families in our community.
