The Quilting Mandarin, Karen Dodd donated “Star Light,” one of her custom quilts to Monica Kazan for the 2017 benefit for Promise Place in New Bern NC. The Barn Bash held September 9 this year will hold auctions and raffles to raise money to support the sexual assault resource center serving Craven, Jones, and Pamlico Counties. The dinner, music and fund raising event will be held at the Batten Farm in New Bern on Saturday, September 9 from 5:00 – 10:00 PM. During the fiscal year 2016-2017 Promise Place served 272 individuals, from ages under 6 years old to persons over 75 years. Promise Place provided over 3,642 sessions of individual advocacy and evidence-based trauma-focused therapy within the communities served.
