‘December 7th, 1941, a date which will live in infamy’. A date that serves as a bookmark in American history; a pivotal point that awakened the spirit, strength, and solidarity of our great nation to protect its most valued asset…freedom
Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 886, New Bern, honors the 75th Anniversary of Pearl Harbor in a “Field of Flags” on December 6th thru 8th at Union Point Park. It pays tribute to the men and women lost at Pearl Harbor, veterans of all wars and peace keeping employments. It is a static display made up of over 100 miniature flags. A tag, provided by members of our community, will be attached to each flag noting the name, rank, service and war period of their special veteran.
