Check out the new Sculptures at the Coastal Carolina Regional Airport

“Art at the Airport” is a unique program that gives East Carolina University Students a chance to exhibit their art to over 130,000 travelers to and from the Coastal Carolina Regional Airport each year.

The Coastal Carolina Regional Airport, in partnership with the East Carolina University Sculpture Program revealed the new installations at the Airport’s Sculpture Park on April 1, 2016. This event is part of a National “Art in the Airport” program, designed to enhance the travel experience of our customers.

ECU students were given the assignment of creating sculptures addressing the theme of “flight” by Professor Hanna Jubran. A jury, including Airport Director Tom Braaten, viewed many models and selected seven pieces to be created for the event.

This was the first time that all the artists were women. They were given 60 days to create the sculptures and finished installing them before the ceremony on April 1st.

So visit their Airport to see these unique sculptures. Who knows, you may end up buying one!
