Friday-Monday, February 14-17: Audubon Society’s Annual Great Backyard Bird Count
Please come out for a pleasant hike to identify and take an inventory of the winter and resident birds at Cool Springs! Please contact me if you are interested to set up the day and time frame that works for you. Of course, there is no fee, because you will be volunteering for us and the Audubon Society. All sightings will be submitted to an international database.
Saturday, March 1st: Pine Needle Basket Making Class
10am-1pm
Fee: $15.00 (You must register your space in advance. Payment can be sent prior to the class or also may be received upon arrival of the class in the form of cash or check only.)
During this class, you will learn how to construct a small basket out of Long Leaf Pine needles. All materials will be provided and you will go home with your own hand made pine needle basket. (ages 12 and up).
Friday, March 7th: Owl Prowl
6pm-8pm
Fee: $10.00 (You must register in advance. Payment can be received prior to the program, or upon arrival in the form of cash or check only.)
This program will begin with a 30 minute slide presentation that will unveil fascinating facts about owls. Following this, we will spend the remainder of the dusk/night time quietly walking trails through the forest prowling for owls. We will periodically stop to play resident owl calls and then listen for them to respond. If lucky, we may even see an owl up close! (ages 6 and up).
Friday, March 21st: Spring Wreath Making Class
5pm-7pm
Fee $15.00 (You must register in advance. Payment can be received prior to the class ,or upon arrival in the form of cash or check) In this class, you will learn how to make a wreath frame out of grape vines. You will then have a chance to decorate your wreath with any of the accent materials that will be available, or with any that you may choose to bring (optional). (ages 12 and up)
