Thursday, October 3, 2013: Reptile Workshop, 9am-4pm: Learn how to identify the Reptiles of NC.  This will start out in a classroom and will be outdoors for the afternoon portion. Fee: $10.00 ages 16 and up.  To register, contact 252-670-0090 or e-mail mike.campbell@ncwildlife.org.

Saturday October 5, 2013: Beginner Fly Fishing Workshop 9:30am-dusk: An experience fly fishing angler will demonstrate and teach basic techniques of fly fishing.  A canoe and tandem kayak will be available for use in addition to a dock off the Swift Creek to test out what you learn.  Fee: $40.00  Ages 12 and up, to register, call 252-514-3533, or e-mail info@coolsprings.org.

Saturday October 19, 2013: Pine Needle Basket Making  9am-2pm: Learn the ancient art of creating a basket using Long Leaf pine needles.  All materials will be provided. An experienced weaver will be present to demonstrate more advanced techniques and will have handmade pottery centerpieces for sale.
