New Bern Parks & Recreation invites you and your family to Lawson Creek Park this Independence Day…for an afternoon full of fun followed by a spectacular fireworks show.
The fun starts at 3:00pm with inflatable’s for the kids, misting tent, and painting. Also, enjoy tasty treats from our food vendors…everything from pizza, hotdogs and hamburgers, to all kinds of goodies to satisfy your sweet tooth.
We’re excited to announce newcomers Ratio Theatre Company this year for the reading of the Declaration of Independence at 5:00pm Then, crowd favorite the 2D Marine Aircraft Wing Band joins us for patriotic, toe-tapping tunes from 6:30-9:00p.m. And finally, as nightfall sets in over the Trent River, get ready for lots of ooo’s and ahh’s with our spectacular fireworks show.
Feel free to bring coolers, comfy chairs and blankets, but leave your pets at home (exception given to service animals). The City also prohibits alcohol, glass containers, weapons, and fireworks in the park. We welcome bicyclists but ask that you walk your bike once you enter the park.
