It was a Merry Christmas in July with Thea’s Ideas unique event in New Bern!

Thea Kincaid, owner of Thea’s Ideas promotional products put on a wonderful show with all the bells and whistles yesterday!

Check out the above video to see what happened!

This year’s event marked Thea’s 10th Anniversary for Christmas in July and it was a grand success. With 12 vendors from the South Eastern US; businesses and non-profits came out to see the latest and greatest promotional products and learn how their organization can benefit by using them.

Doubletree by Hilton did an outstanding job hosting the event! Attendees enjoyed popcorn, their famous chocolate chip cookies, and cotton candy made by Vernice Walker and her Catering Staff!

Thea said, “I couldn’t have done it without my Team: Brittny Salmons, Shannon LuQuire, Michelle Ammons and her beautiful daughters, Leila and Olivia”.

Anita Williford, owner of the Graphic Shack did a terrific job designing the Christmas in July logo.

Thea also said, “I want to thank all of my Clients who have supported Thea’s Ideas for the past 18 years and I look forward to continuing to promote our community”. She also wanted to thank everyone who welcomed her vendors and attended this year’s event.

Lou Williams, owner of Lou’s Florist designed the beautiful watermelon basket and floral arrangement.

Thea’s vendors showed off the enormous array of unique promotional products are pictured above from left to right: Harold Woody, Joy Jacobs, Toni Prophitt, Jane Ryan, Julie Strob, Karen Popple, Tina Brown Jameson, Linda McMahan, Jack Keegan, (Thea Kincaid), Brian Kemp, Frank Deaner and Andrew Landrum (not pictured).

During a visit to Religious Community Services (RCS) last year, Thea told me she wanted to do something to help fill their empty shelves. She decided then that she was going to ask her vendors and attendees of Christmas in July to provide canned goods for RCS.

This year, we were made aware of a unique opportunity to make a monetary donation to RCS and donations will be doubled by August 1, 2012. A special friend of RCS has promised to match “Challenge” donations up to a total of $10,000. Thea’s encourages everyone to pull together and make a difference in our community. Visit RCS’s website to donate online.

Thea was happy to announce that RCS received a trunk load of non-perishable food items and over $1000 as Christmas in July came to an end.

Bernie Bear and his elves, Amanda Banks and Janet Lamb, donated food for RCS and told us about this year’s “Beary Merry Christmas”. The “Beary Merry Christmas” is Downtown New Bern’s new theme for the Holiday Season, it will replace “A Dickens of a Christmas”. They need sponsors and volunteers to help.
