New Bern Farmers Market hosts its 8th Annual Book Lovers’ Affair on Saturday, February 18th from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm.
The market specializes in home grown and homemade. What is more homemade than local talented writers who have written, and in some cases, self published their own books?
Many of these authors write about people and places right here in this area. The settings for Karen Dodd’s novels are places that people who live in Eastern North Carolina know and love. James (Jim) White writes about living on Portsmouth Island and Flavius Hall tells about life in the 50’s and 60’s in New Bern.
Other local authors at this year’s event are James Preston Hardison, Earl Mills, Mary Lois Miller, Phil Bowie, Bettye Green, Deborah Wallis, and Richard Grayson. Meet the authors, chat, and take home a copy signed by the author especially for you.
