Hunter is a neutered male approximately 4 years old. He is a black and tan Chihuahua mix and weighs a light 12 lbs. Hunter is very gentle and loves people. All he wants is to be around his person and be loved. He will follow you anywhere. He came in to the shelter as a stray. Can you image this little boy being out on his own? If you are looking for a Velcro dog to go everywhere with you, Hunter is your guy.

Hunter is currently at the Craven Correctional Institution in the New Leash on Life (NLOL) program. His inmate trainer is teaching him housebreaking, leash and crate training and basic obedience commands. When he graduates from the program in April, he will be ready to move right into his new home with his forever family.

Joe Cocker is a gorgeous buff colored Cocker Spaniel. He is neutered, about 3 years old and weighs about 30 lbs. He is a great age – not a puppy but still young and active. Joe Cocker is a wiggle worm through and through. He has lots of energy and loves to play and romp. As a Cocker Spaniel he will need periodic brushing. Joe C came into the shelter as a stray. It is hard to imagine that no one came looking for this handsome boy.

Currently, Joe Cocker is the NLOL program learning skills necessary to be a perfect companion dog. His inmate trainer will teach him basic obedience skills, housebreaking as well as crate and leash training. At graduation in April, he will be ready to move into your home – “move-in ready.” He is a sweet boy looking for a forever home with lots of love.

Here she is – Miss Personality!!! Liberty is a spayed black and white, female Pomeranian mix. She is adorable and she knows it. She is approximately 18 months old and weighs an itty bitty 9 lbs. She will do best in a home willing to give her an appropriate outlet for her abundant energy. Her long hair will need occasional brushing and grooming.

Liberty is in the NLOL program where she is learning basic obedience skills, crate and leash training. With these skills added to her adorable personality, she will make someone a great companion. If that is you, she will be ready to come home at graduation in April.

Scrappy is a neutered male, approximately a year old. He is a Dachshund mix, more mix than Dachshund. He weighs 25 lbs. He is full of energy. A real fun dog that would do great with children. His owner was deployed and the person caring for him turned him in because he was too energetic. All he wants to do is love and play. A great family dog.
