Responsible for Coordinating State Plan

New Bern, NC – Timothy Ludwig, Vice President, Ancillary Services for CarolinaEast Health System has been named to the North Carolina State Health Coordinating Council (SHCC) by Governor Beverly Perdue.

The overarching responsibility of the SHCC is to develop the annual State Medical Facilities Plan which maps out service need across the state for the following 12 months. Council members, who represent various health care disciplines and regions across North Carolina, pledge to do so cost-effectively while expanding medical services to the underserved and encouraging quality in the services offered. Council members serve on one of three committees: Acute Care Services, Technology and Equipment or Long-Term and Behavioral Health.

Ludwig joined the CarolinaEast organization in 2000 as Radiology Manager, advancing to Director of Imaging and Vice President. He received his undergraduate degree from Pfeiffer University and his Masters in Healthcare Administration from the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill.

Ludwig will serve two-years on the Council and will be eligible or reappointment in 2013.
