>

Although a portion of Hancock Street may be closed for a few days while improvements are being made, Poor Charlies Flea Market & Antiques located at 208 Hancock Street will remain open and eager to have the public stop by.

Poor Charlies will continue to be accessible from South Front Street and from the parking lot next door at the corner of Hancock and South Front Streets.

The fourteen dealers located in this historic warehouse specialize in antiques, furniture, accessories, and collectibles. It is one of the oldest businesses in Downtown New Bern and boasts of being the “oldest continuously operating flea market in North Carolina”.

Richard and Lu Hoff have been owner-operators of Poor Charlies since purchasing the building and business in 1989 from Carrie Miller, widow of Charlie Miller.
