>Spring is a busy time for the Wildlife Animal Rehabilitation Center of Eastern NC!

>

If you haven’t noticed, animals are near and dear to us! That’s why we visit the Wildlife Animal Rehabilitation Center of East Carolina (Wild ARC) every couple of months to see what’s happening.

This has been a busy spring (as usual) for Wild ARC Director, Ellen Westermann and the loyal volunteers who feed the animals, clean their living quarters, answer phone calls, provide first aid to animals, and much more!

It’s very important for the public to know that Wild ARC is a “WILDLIFE” rescue non-profit organization that relies on local residents for support (from volunteering to monetary donations).

Ellen and the Wild ARC volunteers work around the clock to care for wild animals. We hope you enjoy the video to see a small part of what they do for our community.

One very important note in case you missed it on the video: if you feed the ducks at Union Point Park or other places, use generic dog food. Do not feed bread to ducks because it has no caloric value and they will get full without ingesting the proper vitamins and nutrients needed to survive.

To read more about Wild ARC, please visit their website: http://www.wildarc.org, call them at 252-638-4646, or visit them by appointment at 1312 Old Cherry Point Road, New Bern, NC.
