Did you know that New Bern has a Christening gown and Heirloom Seamstress in Town? I didn’t until I met Claudia Hughes. Actually, we’ve met a number of times during my travels around town, but I recently learned she has a new business – “The Heirloom Boutique”.
Claudia has been sewing and altering clothing for years. Last week we met so I could see her beautiful heirlooms. Claudia showed me her handy work: Christening gowns, baby shoes, tote bags, baby clothing, wedding apparel, gifts, linens, day gowns, napkins, placemats, table runners and many other lovely accessories. She also creates specialized monograms. You name it and she can probably make it!
I was amazed by Claudia’s precious heirlooms! She produces prized, delicate apparel and accessories. Talk about time consuming and sometimes frustrating work! She takes special pride when perfecting these adoring heirlooms.
