The warm weather has triggered a good bite of fish along the Neuse River. Spotted seatrout and red drum have move into the area creeks. Concerns over winter cold stun events have been shaken off like this past winters cold. Specks up to 5 pounds have been landed this past week. Plenty of puppy drum are in the mix as well. Capt. Gary Dubiel has been finding both fish mixed together. In the main river near New Bern, striper fishing continues to be good with plenty of quality fish to make a great outing. Look for the “rockfish” to be staging along hard structure and river channel ledges.
