Rivertowne Repertory Players presents “Southern Hospitality”, by Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope, Jamie Wooten, Directed by Dianne Hawkins performances August 20, 21, 27, 28 at 8:00pm and August 22 and 29 at 3:00pm, 2010.
This is the third play in the Futrelle Family Texas Trilogy that began with “Dearly Beloved” and continued with “Christmas Belles”. A laugh-out-loud farce and a stand-alone play in its own right.
The Futrelle Sisters — Frankie, Twink, Honey Rae and Rhonda Lynn — are in trouble again. Their beloved hometown, Fayro, Texas is in danger of disappearing and it’s up to the sisters to save it from extinction. In order to impress “Senora Caliente” to move her salsa factory to Fayro, the girls plan, “Fayro Days” with a reenactment of a Civil War battle with only fifteen participants. Add to this Twink’s desperation to get married, Dub, Frankie’s husband, is having a mid-life crisis while their twins are tearing up the town and the “meanest woman in twelve counties”, Dub’s Aunt Iney comes to visit. It’s all a recipe for total hilarity.
