The Havelock Chili Festival has evolved to become one of the premier events in Eastern North Carolina during the Fall Season. The 2013 Havelock Chili Festival will be Friday, October 18 and Saturday, October 19 at Walter B Jones Park in Havelock on US Highway 70.
In 2012, an estimated 25,000 people attended the two day event. We appreciate that so many people come out to visit but please leave your pets at home! Sponsored by CarolinaEast Health System, CenturyLink, Marine Federal Credit Union, Trent Buick Cadillac GMC, Nationwide – Amato Insurance Company and Havelock Fuel Markets East & West, the 2013 Havelock Chili Festival should be even bigger and better than ever.
The Chili Festival Committee works diligently over an 11 month planning process to ensure this event takes place each year.
It is the mission of the Havelock Chili Festival to give back to the community. Therefore, proceeds from the Chili Festival are donated to non profits in the area. This year’s recipients will be:
– Easter Seals / Craven Cherry Point Child Development Center
– Coastal Women’s Shelter
– Early College EAST
– Annunciation Catholic School
– Havelock High School Band Boosters
– Cherry Point Young Marines
New for this year:
– Spare Change will be performing Friday night from 5 pm – 9 pm. Cold Biscuit will be performing on Saturday.
– Nationwide NASCAR sponsored by Amato Insurance Company.
Continued Favorites:
Friday night will be the Chicken Wing , Chili Verde and Salsa Competition.
Saturday will be the Red Chili Competition
Lots of exhibits, vendors and Food for the entire family

The Havelock Chili Festival is sanctioned by the International Chili Society. The winner of the Havelock Chili Festival in the Red Chili, Chili Verde and Salsa competitions will be able to represent the state of North Carolina in the 2014 World Championship Competition. Almost $3,000 in prize money is awarded at the Havelock Chili Festival.
