Sculpture Welding
February 20, 27 & March 6 from 5:30 – 9 p.m
This three week course will cover the design, fabrication, and finishing of welded steel sculpture. Designed for those with little to no experience in steel fabrication, this course will cover tool safety and usage, primarily with MIG/GMAW welding. Under the supervision of instructor Jon Burger, students will complete three metal welding projects that they can proudly display in their homes. Students are required to wear closed toed shoes and natural fiber clothing for this class.

Hand Cut Dovetail Joint Workshop
February 24, 1 to 4 p.m.
Master Craftsman Stan Corbett’s side interest, making hand cut dovetails and specialty boxes from domestic and exotic hardwoods, has evolved from a hobby/sideline into a thriving business. His core business, however is in furniture repair, refinishing and restoration for antique dealers, decorators and private customers. Stan has agreed to share his hand cut dovetail techniques with fellow woodworkers. The demonstrations will be at Shop Class’s recently renovated and equipped 1920’s warehouse located 406 Guion St. in the industrial area north of the Historic Downtown Neighborhood. Although there is no cost for this seminar, space is limited so please RSVP via email to Maurice Howland to reserve a seat.
